Since 2011 we've sat down with Kirk on numerous occasions as he recounted his harrowing and remarkable journey through the criminal justice system. We've followed his reform efforts from Boise to Baltimore, through New York, to Washington DC, Philadelphia, Annapolis, and Atlanta. We captured his successful fight to repeal the death penalty in Maryland, the state that convicted him to death in 1985. We walked with him through the halls of the prison he spent so many years in, and sat with him in the prison visiting room where he last saw his mother before she passed away. We retraced the footsteps he walked on the day he was finally released in the summer of 1993, and we lived with him in the quiet moments away from constant battle for reform.
Over these past three years we’ve captured an honest, and intimate, glimpse into what it is to wake to a living nightmare; an innocent man caught in the perfect storm of injustice, and the lasting marks it leaves even after exoneration.
On October 1, 2014 we launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise the final funds needed to complete, release and premiere BLOODSWORTH - An Innocent Man, and we want you will join us.
The dollars raised go directly toward covering the hard costs associated with completing and delivering the film for distribution, and premiere screenings in Boise, Idaho (where Kirk and I first met and much of the film was made), and Baltimore, Maryland (where Kirk's story began).
Once the film is complete and we prepare for the film's release across a wide array of digital platforms and on home video, we will be offering a variety of ways to license screenings of the film for individuals and organizations once the film is in release.
Every single dollar goes a very long way toward these costs, and is greatly appreciated as we work to bring Kirk's story into the world.
Again, thank you for your consideration.
These funds will go directly toward the film's completion and distribution, including:
